RUBY, JULY PRECIOUS STONE
Ruby is the gem of the month of July and is considered the king of stones.
The Indians discovered the first ruby mines in the lands of Mogok (now Myanmar) in 3000 BC; in those times this gem was used as an ornament or for healing purposes.

It was, in fact, pulverized and drunk to treat circulatory or digestive problems. It is said that it was embedded under the skin by the warriors of Burma to protect them during battles.
Wearing a ruby bodes well for a peaceful life, health, well-being, wisdom and love. When worn on the left hand, it was even thought to help you live in peace with your enemies.
Like all precious stones, ruby has different shades depending on the territory of extraction or specifically on the basis of the geological-minerological area in which it was formed.
A characterization that distinguishes it from a pink sapphire or an orange sapphire, also derived from corundum like ruby, is the intensity of the red color.
The most saturated come from the famous area of Burma, while the Thai ones are darker and less saturated. The ruby mines still active today are those of Mozambique, Vietnam, Cambodia, Afghanistan, Madagascar and Kenya, while Tanzania has always remained the main area where to find superlative rubies.
