Ricci jewels, between nature and technology

Ricci jewels, Ricci jewels, between nature and technology

A non-conformist style, the polar opposite of traditional jewellery: this is the collection Ricci jewels, one of the most original proposals signed by the brand Daverio1933. They are pendants, rings and earrings characterized by an unusual shape, an accurate design and craftsmanship that make them unique and inimitable jewels.

A collection inspired by nature

I Ricci jewels they were born in 2020, from an idea by Luca Daverio, jewel designer of the brand: «We wanted to create a jewel with an "amorphous shape" ̶   remembers Daverio ̶   that would communicate a sense of spontaneity, of "ordered disorder"».

The right inspiration came from nature: the hedgehog, which is found in the animal and plant world, met the requirements exactly with its shape. The characteristic of hedgehogs, in fact, is that of having spines or spines, arranged in a way that is not necessarily symmetrical, but which however make up a spherical shape, which instead represents a single compact. In the hedgehog, therefore, linear elements coexist in a spherical whole, with an apparent contradiction that instead generates a harmonious result, transmitting that sense of "ordered disorder" sought by Luca Daverio.

The first hedgehog-shaped creation was a pendant, which anticipated the birth of the actual collection by almost a year. In fact, to arrive at the current jewels, a long process of planning and manufacturing was necessary, through the collaboration of Luca Daverio with the goldsmith's laboratory.

How Ricci jewels have evolved

Since the first pendant, which remained a unique piece, there have been several transformations which primarily concerned the appearance of the jewels and the characteristic "stings" of the hedgehog. In fact, several modifications were necessary to prevent the jewellery, in particular the rings, from creating difficulties once worn: they could in fact be annoying against the skin, or get caught in clothes. To resolve these critical issues, the "stings" in rings are fewer and thinner, and therefore less pointed, than in pendants and earrings.

Another change was the addition of precious stones: the first "urchins", created only in gold, were followed by versions with important precious stones, such as diamonds, sapphires and tanzanite. The combination of gems and metal followed the rules of color composition: the cold shades of white and blue diamonds go perfectly with white gold jewels, while warmer colored stones, such as fancy color diamonds.

Today i Ricci jewels they are designed with 3D technologies, from the design to the creation of wax and resin prototypes.

Pendants, rings and earrings: the Ricci jewelery collection

All the jewels in this collection have in common, in addition to the shape, a fundamental characteristic: the shiny-opaque appearance, obtained thanks to a special final process that gives this effect to the metal. This creates a combination of light and shadow which, combined with the brightness of diamonds and other stones, makes these jewels unique.

La Ricci jewelry collection includes pendants, rings and earrings, all made of white or rose gold, with the addition of precious stones. Traditional diamonds are always brilliant cut, to recall the spherical shape of the hedgehog; in some jewels fancy color diamonds are added in various shades, from blue to brown, orange and green. All jewels can be chosen in different sizes, based on the diameter of the hedgehog. The earrings are also offered in another version, with the smaller curl covering the lobe and a precious stone, tanzanite or brown sapphire, as a pendant.

Like all Daverio1933 jewels, the Ricci collection is also embellished with a the packaging exclusive, with a customizable certificate of authenticity and ownership.
