The unusual encounter between jewelry and pastry

What do they have in common handmade jewelry e high pastry macaron? If the question seems unusual, just take a look at the images in this article to immediately grasp the answer: the passion and care of Italian design. The protagonists are the jewels Daverio1933 and MacaRAL® by Rinaldini pastry, which represent the meeting, unusual but effective, of two Italian craft traditions, that of Luca Daverio, who designs and manufactures original jewels in Bergamo, continuing the family tradition, and that of Roberto Rinaldini, award-winning pastry chef from Rimini and well-known face of television programs.

Luca Daverio and Roberto Rinaldini, two faces of Italian design

Jewels have always been part of the fashion world and Daverio1933 creations are an example: Luke Daverio he followed in the footsteps of his father Franco, an eclectic artist who created his first ones in the 30s jewelry-sculpture, and today creates innovative jewelry, expression of contemporary Italian design.

Creativity and design dominate also in the pastry world and in this sense Robert Rinaldini from the beginning he created his own personal and modern style, which is often inspired by the world of fashion, so much so that he is often defined as a “dessert stylist”.

The two designers, although in different fields, share the artisan setting, the attention to detail, the search for new forms of expression that start from tradition, but evolve into innovative proposals, sometimes outside the box. They also have another detail in common, apparently secondary, but in reality fundamental for both: the attention to the the packaging in which they present their creations. Both Daverio jewels and Rinaldini sweets arrive in the hands of customers in packages with attention to every detail, which add even more value to the content.

Italian design, Italian design: the unusual encounter between jewelry and pastry

Summer - Daverio1933 and MacaRAL Rinaldini Pastry Jewels

All this is clearly present in the images that express the harmony between the two worlds, that of jewelry and that of pastry, which together represent the Italian design.

The protagonists are the jewels of the best known and most appreciated Daverio collections and MacaRAL®, Roberto Rinaldini's exclusive reinterpretation of traditional French macarons. The name is inspired by the RAL color chart, one of the indispensable work tools of architects and designers. The idea is to create macarons with exclusive and unusual colors, from white to black, from blue to green. MacaRAL® were created for Milan Design Week 2012 and have been one of Rinaldini Pastry's signature creations ever since.

Italian design, the four seasons in the name of jewels and macarons

The leitmotif of the images are the seasons, told through i colors which distinguish them and which are represented from the combination of macarons and jewels. An unusual combination for the Italian design, but of great effect.

La spring (large photo, top) is made of pastel colors that evoke flowers and fruits, such as blue and pink tennis bracelets with stones, the pink and orange sapphires of the wedding bands with precious stones and the red of the enamel of the Love pendant. The jewels are accompanied by the red of the raspberry MacaRAL® and the green of the pistachio ones, up to the orange of the exotic fruits.

THEsummer (photo above) immediately recalls the sunny shades of the smoky quartz of the ring Calafate and of the Ricci pendant, while the rings with aquamarine and emerald recall the reflections of the sea; summer also has the taste of MacaRAL® with Sicilian pistachio and exotic fruits.

THEautunno (photo on the right) has the warm colors of the brown tones of the chocolate and coffee MacaRAL®, warmed and embellished by the pink gold and the chocolate, brown, yellow and green diamonds of the pendant of the collection Ricci.

Cold shades, on the other hand, for thewinter (photo below), with the white of the snow and the blue shades of MacaRAL® with white chocolate and vanilla. They are combined with the blue reflections of a sapphire and brilliants ring and the blue and fancy color diamonds of the collection ForEver Hug Me.
